YOUTH NEWS:

Sunday School 7th -12th grade meet in Youth room under Taliaferro Hall.
Please do not miss our incredible Sunday school class this year. We will have guest speakers and trips to other churches of different faiths to grow in our understanding of our neighbor’s faith traditions as well as our own. Classes are from 9:00AM to 10:15AM unless posted here on our web site. Looking forward to meeting you!

SUNDAY UPDATE:

7th -12th Grade - Please wear Jeans or slacks and a tee-shirt to church on Sunday for Sunday School (September 17th). We will be learning about Physical saftey and it will require you to sit on the floor as well as to bend over and touch your toes so skirts and dresses will not work. Tank tops, spaghetti straps and such will not work either. Please be sure to wear a t-shirt ladies. We will discuss personal boundaries and how to communicate what our boundaries are to others.

On the following Sunday (September 24th) we will have a split Sunday. This will mean that the J2A & YAC (9th-12th) will meet in the Youth Room under Taliaferro Hall and the Rite 13 (7th & 8th) will meet in the Cathedral at 9:00AM.

The J2A & YAC will discuss Spiritual Safety.
The Rite 13 will do the Cathedral Challenge!

Pilgrimage Meeting 9th -10th grade meet in Youth room under Taliaferro Hall.
Youth and parents kick off meeting will be October 8th after the 10:30AM service to learn about the location and details as we know them now. Parent and youth covenants will be signed. Lunch will be provided as well. Meeting should only last 1 hour.

Band Jam 6th -12th grade meet in the Undercroft after dinner.
Youth are invited with or with out an instrument and or experience. This is a time for us to get to know each other and see what kind of instruments we have to work with. You will meet Ginger Haller a former Choral director for Douglas Anderson. For those just wanting some community time you are welcome as well. Start date is Wednesday, September 13th from 6:15PM to 8:00PM – dinner is 6:15 to 6:45PM.
It will continue on Wednesday nights until otherwise stated here on our website.

Club 56 Dive in at the Flynn’s:
Youth 5th & 6th grades are invited to a party with fishing, swimming and boating as well as great food. Cost is $5. Bring your towel and lawn chair as well as fishing pole. Youth flyers are available on the youth bulletin board and in your Sunday school classroom. When: Saturday, September 23rd 2:00PM to 4:30PM

Light the Night Walk for Leukemia:
Youth 5th -12th grades are invited to raise money and walk for the cure of Leukemia.
September 28th The Jacksonville Landing – The goal is for each youth to raise $100 for the walk ($25 minimum required for the walk). Ask family members, friends and neighbors. A lot of parent’s offices will match funds that you raise so ask your parents about this. Registration begins at 5:30PM and the walk begins at 7:30PM. It last until about 9:00PM. We will walk from the Landings across the Main Street Bridge through Friendship Fountain and then back across the Acosta Bridge. Hot dogs and Panera Bread will have bagels for free. Should you want to eat at the Landings bring extra money for that.
