Position Open: Director of Youth Ministry, St. John's Cathedral, Jacksonville Florida

St. John’s Cathedral in the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, located in downtown Jacksonville, is seeking a Director of Youth Ministry to lead worship, fellowship and coordinate Sunday School instruction for youth in grades 6-12. 

The Cathedral has an average Sunday attendance of 400-450. We seek a Director of Youth Ministry who is filled with a love for Christ to inspire young people in love of God and appreciation for Episcopal traditions. The Director will help youth develop a strong personal relationship with God by teaching and example, using relevant connections with everyday life. This individual will be highly visible to the congregation and must be easily accessible to youth and parents, recruiting participation from them and other volunteers to enhance and build the youth program. Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for working with youth is essential. We seek a team player who will look for opportunities to involve our youth in community service organizations and other outreach. 

Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school, church, Christian camp or non-profit organization is required. The successful candidate will exhibit ability to deal with youth problems including relational challenges within a group, at-risk behaviors, disabilities, and issues that require confidentiality. A bachelors degree or higher is preferred. 

This is a fulltime position offering health and retirement benefits. Ordained clergy and lay candidates will be considered. Salary commensurate with experience.
